A package of grass-finished Cross-K ground beef. Their cattle graze native grass over the summer, cover crops spring and fall, and a little organic, non-GMO cornstalks over the winter. They do planned grazing that ensures the cattle are on the best source of feed possible at all times.
Each package is approximately 1 lb. USDA inspected.
*This is {almost} "grass-fed" beef. Due to changes in labeling laws (December of 2019), this beef can no longer be listed as "grass-fed" because of the short time they are on winter cornstalks. Products that come from animals with less than 100 percent access to grass or forage before harvest can’t use the term grass-fed. However, this beef is finished on grass ("grass-finished"), unlike grain-finished beef.
As a consumer, you have the right to know exactly how your food is raised, not be hoodwinked by confusing labels. The way you know is to know your farmer. Cross-K would be happy to answer any questions you have.
