Due to its crooked neck,  this squash has a tendency to break during shipping so you rarely find this variety in grocery stores.  Due to its straight neck, the Early Prolific Straightneck Squash is mostly preferred over the crooked-necked squash by commercial sellers.  Thankfully, you aren't dealing with a commercial seller and can get this old-time squash for your family!
